Takeaway Christmas
Twenty Five Sleeps Till Christmas.....It's Officially time to start panicking!
Normally I wouldn't give it a second thought well at least until Christmas Eve....But this year things are scarily different.
Normally, with the help of a Spreadsheet and a computer-generated Timeline, Olympia would 'do' the Christmas Dinner. Banished from the kitchen, our role would be to sit back and make appreciative noises while road testing the festive winelist.
Sadly, however, this year is not normal......Olympia has had to dash back to Cape Town to look after her Mum, who is not too well at the moment. This leaves Caitlin and me in charge of Christmas.....!
.....and while I am perfectly capable of putting a decent Cheeseboard together, and Caitlin already has her eyes on some bottles of bubbles for the Bucks Fizz......but Christmas Dinner ...now that's a serious responsibility...and as they read this I can visualise worried family members groaning in anticipation of undercooked turkey and soggy sprouts
However, All is not lost!.
While here in rural Norfolk we are not overly-endowed with Takeaways....turns out that most of them work Christmas.....and hey, everyone enjoys a good takeaway.....Right?
So, Instead of pouring through weighty tomes of Nigella and Jamies Xmas offerings, we are flicking through Takeaway Menus.......Sweet & Sour Turkey Balls.......Turkey Korma.....Turkey in a basket with Chips.......the list is almost endless....And not a sprout in sight.
Although if pushed, I dare say we could whip up a couple of Chilli Sprout Kebabs.
So, Panic Over...Turns out Christmas Dinner is a doddle!
