Boerewors Rolls

While a twist on the traditional Hotdog hardly qualifies as gourmet cooking, these Boerewors rolls are amazing!.

Boerewors, literal translation Farmers Sausage, is a South African staple. usually made with Beef or Pork and relying heavily on Coriander for spicing, no South African BBQ would be complete without a large cartwheel of Wors!

We have'nt seen Boerewors in British supermarkets yet, but an increasing number of Specialist Butchers are making it. We usually buy ours online at Susmans, or St Marcus

Recipe

Fry up 500g of Boerewors in a pan (or if the weather permits on the BBQ)

Fry up some tomatoes, onions and garlic in a small pan, Add a little tomato paste, and season with salt, pepper, oreganum , basil and a splash in balsamic vinegar.

Assemble in a fresh bread roll of your choice and enjoy!
